The
Sierra Leone Prisons Service Primary School was founded 4th October 2011. This
developmental institution strives to provide primary and prospective
secondary education for children of Prison Officers and also serve as a
reintegration learning facility for children caught up in juvenile
offenses as the departments effort to transform the lives of children
caught up in crime. Teachers and pupils of the Sierra Leone Prison Service Primary School front of the school make-shift building, New England in Freetown. The school compound is a safe and conducive area for educational up bring. It is located here............
Presently, the Sierra Leone Prisons Service is constructing a concrete wall school building to house the children. It is wished that donors could support this efforts to complete their dreams. This is the building.
The on-going construction building you can see above is our self help project complemented by the German Embassy in Freetown who provided us with a 50 Million Leone aid towards our vision to hold learning in a concrete structure.. We hope we can attract donors to support our construction work by adding multiple floors to house more beneficiaries [children].
Before this construction project, the school started and is still holding classes in a zinc- make-shift structure where hundreds of children benefit. The Head Mistress of the school is Mrs. Mary Manneh. She is as well the teacher at the reception class for children aged 3 years. See her and the children below.
